The Large-Scale Solar Association (LSA) is proud to endorse Xavier Becerra for Governor of
California in the 2026 election.
California’s next governor will take office at a critical moment for the state’s electricity system.
Electricity demand is rapidly increasing and energy affordability remains as a top priority–all the
while California is quickly approaching its SB 100 deadlines. The need to build and interconnect
new renewable generation, energy storage, and transmission to retain a reliable grid has never
been more pressing.
Becerra recognizes the steps needed to keep the lights on while continuing California’s fight
against climate change. His energy priorities include continued investment in clean energy and
strengthening grid reliability while addressing the rising cost of electricity for Californians.
California has already made significant progress in deploying renewable generation and battery
storage. The work ahead will require continued efforts to accelerate infrastructure buildout
through improved oversight and more efficient permitting and interconnection processes.
LSA looks forward to working with the new Administration to advance a reliable, affordable clean
grid.
